SDN partners with SD GOED to tout data centers
Cooler temperatures, inexpensive power, and a low terrorist threat push South Dakota to the top of the list for prospective data center locations.
Armed with those benefits, a team of South Dakotans showcased the state at the Data Center World tradeshow this spring. South Dakota’s Governor’s Office of Economic Development along with the Sioux Falls Development Foundation worked prospects on building data centers in the state, while SDN sought national companies looking to co-locate their servers in the new SDN Data Center northwest of Sioux Falls.
The 10,000 square feet of data space backs up SDN’s network. Co-Sentry also houses its back-up data facility there, offering leased rack space for companies. SDN still has space for large-scale companies wanting more than 1,000 square feet of data space. Plus, SDN has plans for future expansions at the facility.
