Broadband Infrastructure Helps EROS Share Earth's Images
Sometimes people refer to South Dakota as the middle of nowhere when, in fact, it is the world’s center for Earth images.
Our industry’s marketing directors recently toured EROS (Earth Resources Observation and Science) Center. The United States Geological Survey agency has billions of Earth images stored there at its location north of Sioux Falls. It adds to its collection by the minute as its satellite orbits and photographs our planet. Many of those amazing images, which are now even sold as art, are available to you - free of charge. EROS used to charge for the printed images, but in this technical age they serve them up digitally to anyone with an internet connection.
The public service happens because of the broadband infrastructure SDN and one of its owner companies, Alliance Communications of Garretson, provide to EROS. SDN is proud to serve this international treasure.
